See your basic financial reports
Goal: Find and read the few reports that tell you how your business is doing.
Where to find reports
Section titled “Where to find reports”In the sidebar, open Accounting and look under Financial Reports, or search for a report by name.
The three to start with
Section titled “The three to start with”Profit and Loss Statement
Section titled “Profit and Loss Statement”Your income minus expenses over a period — whether you made a profit. Set the date range and read the bottom line.
Balance Sheet
Section titled “Balance Sheet”A snapshot of what your business owns and owes at a point in time, plus equity.
Accounts Receivable
Section titled “Accounts Receivable”Who owes you money and how overdue it is — the report to check every week.
- Most reports let you filter by date and export to spreadsheet or PDF.
- Numbers only count submitted documents — drafts don’t appear.
You’re done when…
Section titled “You’re done when…”You can open the Profit and Loss, Balance Sheet, and Accounts Receivable reports and read the headline numbers.
